Berwick in Knit

Inspired by traditional fairisle knitting and based on the historic town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Which may appear as any other coastal town here on the East coast, yet carries a rich history including the changing of hands between Scotland and England several times before settling as England’s most northerly town - still bearing marks of its tumultuous past through the mostly intact rampart walls which fortified the town against centuries of conflict.

This piece is a celebration of Berwick and a wider appreciation for the history of seafaring towns of Scotland and the North of England. It is available as a made to order garment with a matching lighthouse hat, made from 100% Shetland wool grown and spun in Shetland.
